I love working with 3D graphics and animations, and I know that many other people share my love of creating great little movies and pictures from 3D as well. It is an awesome thing to think up a concept and then to be able to bring it to fruition. The only trouble is that the commercial 3D graphics programs are way out of the price range for the average person to buy.Luckily there is a 100% free piece of software which allows you to create awesome 3D environments that are actually quite stunning, and they do rival the quality of the much more pricey software. Blender is a full 3D graphics program which rivals the best on the market and it is astoundingly versatile and powerful. Blender gives the user a full set of tools to work with. The great thing about blender is that you have everything available to you so that you can create animated movies or just 3D art.
Some of the features include “Modeling,” “Rigging,” “Animation,” and “Rendering.” But even with those features we have only begun to scratch the surface of what this software can do. You can also add lighting effects, and particle effects. Creating an animated creation is very simple and much of the work is done for you. Probably one of the best features available is the ability to create a game in real time.
If you are an artist and you have drawn some 2D characters, well the next logical step is to make those characters 3D and then animate them. Make your own series of YouTube videos, or build your own high-tech game. There is no limit as to what you can do with this software.
I know if you are like me you are thinking that it all sounds really great, but I have no talent when it comes to graphics. Well with blender you do not have to be. All that you must be is willing to give it a try. The software is free so you lose absolutely nothing. Plus there are many resources and tutorials as well as, video tutorials to help you out.
The way you work with the subjects in Blender is very much like working with clay but on a computer. It is easy and you manipulate it until you get the desired effect. I remember just a few short years ago that Blender was difficult for the new user to get used to and many just gave up in disgust, but now it is absolutely awesome and has many features which help to ensure that even a noob can make a great 3D scene or even a great full length animation.
